Rise Up and Build
The situation that Nehemiah found when he arrived in Jerusalem is not that different from our situation today...We live in a nation whose walls have been destroyed, and we are vulnerable to our enemies. We have become so calloused to the rubble around us that we walk right over it, or tolerate it. Like the Israelites, we have been led to believe that we are incapable of changing the situation.
Nehemiah concluded that the most important thing he could do was rebuild the wall. He realized that this was the first step in rebuilding and restoring the city.
We, the Church, are called to BE the wall. Our wall isn't made up of brick in mortar, but instead it is made up of people...living stones.
We must work hard to stay connected and in unity as the wall. We have divided ourselves over everything imaginable, but we need to unite like never before to see God's Kingdom come.
God is calling us today to take our place at the wall. Will you answer the call?
